The WiseChoice Healthcare Alliance was established by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce to help small businesses access affordable, employer-based group health insurance through affiliated local chambers and associations. Designed for eligible businesses with 2 to 50 employees, the alliance offers a self-funded employee welfare benefit plan tailored to the needs of small employers.
In partnership with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, the WiseChoice Healthcare Alliance provides a range of health benefit options to participating employers. The program operates under the authority of and is regulated by the Virginia Bureau of Insurance, with oversight from a board of trustees representing participating members.

NONPROFIT COUNCIL aka COMMUNITY ACTION TEAM (CAT)
Who is CAT? A collaboration between the Luray-Page County Chamber of Commerce and the JMU REACH Initiative, the Page County Nonprofit Council and the Being There team have joined forces to form the Community Action Team (CAT). This dynamic group meets bi-monthly with the mission of connecting local resources to the most pressing needs of Page County residents through coordinated projects, programs, and initiatives.
CAT focuses on identifying community needs while assessing the strengths, gaps, and opportunities within our local organizations, institutions, and businesses. These efforts are led by the Luray-Page Chamber of Commerce and two dedicated co-chairs, with ongoing participation from a diverse range of community partners committed to making a meaningful impact in Page County.
Each month, representatives from community based organizations or CBO’s representing health systems, youth prevention and education, housing and homelessness, aging adults, food access and nutrition, recovery and mental health, small business support, etc. come together to share updates, identify challenges, and collaborate on solutions. Through open dialogue and collective action, CAT aims to build a stronger, more connected community. Through their collective efforts thus far, the CAT Team has successfully initiated a transportation study and recently received the Community Partnership Grant from Valley Health.
Currently, CAT has identified food access as a key priority, working to unify and enhance existing initiatives to ensure all residents have access to fresh, local food—ultimately helping to reduce health disparities across the county. www.pickedinpage.com
CAT meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each other month from 9:00–11:00 AM at the Page County Technical Center. All individuals and organizations interested in contributing to community betterment are encouraged to attend.
